Getting Started

First Time Setup

  1. Download Crest from the App Store
  2. Complete the quick onboarding – tell us a bit about your cycle (or skip if you prefer)
  3. Start tracking – tap the Track tab to log your first symptoms
  4. Explore – check out the Calendar, Insights, and Learn sections
Tip: The more consistently you track, the better Crest can help you understand your patterns. Even logging once a day makes a difference!

Frequently Asked Questions

Is my data private?

Yes. All your health data is stored locally on your device by default. We don't upload your personal health information to our servers. You can optionally contribute anonymised data to research – but this is entirely your choice. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

What's the difference between Free and Plus?

The free version includes symptom tracking, period tracking, work impact logging, and educational content in the Learn hub. Crest Plus ($4.99/month or $39.95/year) adds HRT medication tracking with smart reminders, timeline insights, symptom predictions, data export, and GP health reports. All plans include a 7-day free trial.

What is the research participant discount?

When you upgrade to Plus, you can opt into our research program and receive 20-25% off your subscription. You'll need to log your work impacts at least weekly to maintain the research rate. Your anonymised data helps build the first Australian dataset on menopause and work, in partnership with Macquarie University.

How do I track my HRT medication?

HRT tracking is a Crest Plus feature. Go to the Track tab → HRT Medication to add your medications. You can set up custom reminder schedules, including cycle-relative scheduling (e.g., days 16-28), and log when you've taken each dose.

Can I export my data to show my doctor?

Yes! Go to Profile → Health Information → Generate GP Report for a personalised report with questions to discuss, or Settings → Export Data for CSV/PDF exports. Export features require Crest Plus.

I'm in menopause and don't have periods anymore. Is Crest still useful?

Absolutely! Go to Settings → Manage Cycle and turn off "I still have periods". Crest will hide period-related features and focus on symptom tracking, medication reminders, and insights that are relevant to you.

How do I delete my data?

Go to Settings → scroll to the bottom → Reset All Data. Since all data is stored on your device, deletion is immediate and permanent. You can also uninstall the app to remove all data.

Can I use Crest on my iPad?

Yes! Crest works on iPhone and iPad. Your data stays on whichever device you use – we don't currently sync between devices.

Subscription Management

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed through Apple, not within the Crest app. Here's how to cancel:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad
  2. Tap your name at the top of the screen
  3. Tap Subscriptions
  4. Tap Crest from your list of subscriptions
  5. Tap Cancel Subscription
  6. Confirm the cancellation when prompted

You'll continue to have Plus access until the end of your current billing period. After that, you'll revert to the free tier but won't lose any of your tracked data.

I can't find my subscription in Settings

Make sure you're signed into the same Apple ID you used to subscribe. If you subscribed on a different device, sign into that Apple ID first. You can also manage subscriptions at apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple ID. Find the Crest purchase and select "Request a refund".

I can't restore my Plus subscription

In Crest, go to the upgrade screen and tap "Restore Purchases". Make sure you're signed into the same Apple ID you used to purchase. If it still doesn't work, contact us with your Apple receipt email.

Troubleshooting

The app is running slowly or crashing

Try these steps: (1) Close and reopen the app, (2) Restart your device, (3) Make sure you're running the latest version of Crest from the App Store, (4) Check you have enough storage space on your device. If problems persist, contact us.

My medication reminders aren't working

Check that notifications are enabled: Go to your iPhone Settings → Crest → Notifications → make sure "Allow Notifications" is on. Also check that Do Not Disturb or Focus modes aren't blocking Crest notifications.
